Sales of fruit properties have been strong over the past few months with our rural sales team in Northland continuing to show their expertise in the area. Recently, two Avocado and one Kiwifruit properties were sold to buyers from throughout the country, proving the strength of a well run marketing campaign.

Last year was extremely busy in dairy and sheep farm sales, with the October to December period being the busiest. Our rural team ran several large marketing campaigns simultaneously which led to a number of confirmed sales and several other farms under contract.

On the 14th November 2012 the new Barfoot & Thompson Auction rooms at 34 Shortland Street were opened to the public. This followed the move of the company’s head office from the Chancery to Shortland St 2 weeks earlier. Tim Carter, Barfoot & Thompson Auction Manager says, “The new facilities are state of the art and offer the latest in audio visual equipment. Over 50 % of Barfoot & Thompson’s sales are now through the auction process so the new rooms will be well utilised.”
