Rural Sales for Auckland Region Q4 2011
Data released by the REINZ shows that in the Auckland Region there were 42 more farm sales (+ 20%) made in the 3 months ended December in 2011 (Quarter 4 2011) than for the 3 months ended December 2010. Overall in the Auckland region there were 249 farm sales.
Two districts in Auckland Region make up 77% of all farm transactions, Franklin with 44%, and Rodney with 33%. In Quarter 4 2011, Franklin had 82 sales, up 25 from Quarter 4 2010, while Rodney was up 22 sales in the same period, to 109.
91% of Farm sales in the Auckland region for Quarter 4 2011, were for Lifestyle properties. The average size of these Lifestyle properties was 3.1 hectares, with an average per hectare price of $507,152. This average is the highest quarterly average per hectare achieved this year, though was down from the average achieved in Q4 2010 of $527,080.
Auckland Region achieved farm sales of 960 for the full 2011 year, a rise of 11% on 2010 and 7% higher than 2009.
