Stephen Dallow, Regional Manager - Property Management

Stephen Dallow joined Barfoot & Thompson in early 2017 and quickly established the Titirangi branch as a thriving Property Management office. His leadership and dedication were recognised in September 2018 when he won the #1 Top Achiever award and the Top Customer Satisfaction Award for West Auckland.

With a strong background in facilitation and drama teaching, Stephen seamlessly transitioned into the role of Property Management Trainer, where he helped shape the next generation of professionals. Over the years, he progressed into management, serving as Manager of Training and Recruitment before being appointed Regional Manager – Property Management in 2024.

In his current role, Stephen oversees the Training Team and Training Academy, where new cadets embark on meaningful career journeys in Property Management. He works closely with branches across the network, providing support in staff management, business development, and enhancing customer experience strategies.

A firm believer in the family values of Barfoot & Thompson, Stephen is passionate about ensuring staff have access to top-tier training, keeping them up to date with the latest compliance requirements, rental trends, and government regulations.

Outside of real estate, Stephen is an active member of the arts community and a dedicated theatre director. In his spare time, he brings full-scale musicals to life across Auckland, combining his leadership skills with his love for the performing arts.

 

Megan O’Callaghan, In-house Adviser

Megan is a qualified solicitor and brings to Barfoot & Thompson a wide variety of legal experience from several private practice and in-house roles. To date in her career, she has worked across many areas, including residential conveyancing, general practice and, most recently, commercial and intellectual property law.

This background has taught her how to provide clear and pragmatic legal advice. She enjoys analysing the facts of a situation and working out how the law can be applied in a practical way.

She is pleased to be working in-house again, getting to see the real value of her advice to those working at the front line. She enjoys the challenge of grappling with unique and interesting situations residential tenancy law presents.

She is available to assist our property managers and branch managers with their legal queries, updates our standard documents and provides specialised training with regard to new law.

 

Sharon Sykes, Finance & Systems Trainer

With an association of over 29 years in the real estate software management, customer services and training to financial trust accounting, Sharon has a great knowledge of real estate.

After all these years, Sharon is extremely passionate about software training our property management staff and having them achieve a great understanding in using the accounting software.

Sharon offers comprehensive in-house training to all staff.

 

Shantanu Srivastava, Regional Trainer

Shantanu began his journey as a Property Manager in 2020 with Barfoot & Thompson, gaining firsthand experience in day-to-day operations, tenant-owner relations, and property compliance. His dedication and expertise earned him recognition as the Best Property Manager within his branch at the time. In 2022, this hands-on experience became a valuable asset when he transitioned into his current role as a Regional Trainer for Systems & Processes.

Passionate about continuous learning and innovation, Shantanu thrives on empowering teams with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in an evolving property landscape. He enjoys visiting and collaborating with teams across all branches, focusing on building a strong foundation in Property Management, optimising systems and processes, and upskilling teams with best practices to
enhance productivity and service excellence.

Bringing a dynamic approach to training and development in the Residential Property Management sector, Shantanu combines industry knowledge with practical insights to drive efficiency and performance.

Before stepping into Residential Property Management, he had an extensive career in Commercial Property Management internationally, successfully overseeing large-scale shopping centres for many years. This experience provided him with deep insights into strategic asset management, operational efficiencies, and customer engagement, all of which now shape his training methodology.

 

Sophia MacMillan, Regional Trainer

My career journey with Barfoot & Thompson started 4 years ago when I was selected to join the Property Management Training Academy. Then, I was promoted to be a property manager, successfully running a portfolio where I held and grew the business, also building genuine customer relationships. Now, it is a privilege to be a Regional Trainer for all new staff joining such a renowned company in the Property Management industry.

Property Management is my forte, I demonstrate a strong understanding of the Residential Tenancy Act and this is matched with true passion and enthusiasm. I strive to provide the best training to all new staff with our in-house, Elevate qualification, at our branches and also remotely. The biggest reward is seeing teams embracing our training support, and delivering our company best practices in their roles.

 

Amanda Harrison-Kyle, Head of Property Management - Property Management Centre

After 12 years in the Property Management industry, winner of Top Property Management Awards including REINZ Property Manager of the Year, Amanda utilises her skills as the Head of Property Management for the Support Centre’s Training Academy. This role requires her to be both a training lead and also manage the portfolio of properties this branch works with.

A passionate team member and mentor she develops and trains with a hands-on style developed by doing the ‘hard yards’. Resilience and perseverance guarantee a strong platform to focus on business development and maintaining a high-quality portfolio.

She is proud to be a member of the Barfoot & Thompson family and have the ability to make a difference within the Property Industry through best practice training and mentoring.
