About Tony Cederwall

People often ask, “Why would I choose Barfoot & Thompson Torbay?” As Branch Manager, my answer is simple: it’s about understanding. Understanding your story, your goals, and the vision you have for your future. This approach is the foundation of everything we do at our branch.

I firmly believe that with the right leadership, a positive mindset, empathy, and innovative strategies, we can help achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients. My years of experience as a top-performing salesperson on the North Shore taught me the value of these qualities, and I ensure my team upholds the same standards.

I moved to the Bays in 1987, and my roots in this community run deep. From playing rugby and cricket at the East Coast Bays clubs to running my own business for 22 years, I’ve gained a strong understanding of the local area and its people. My business background has also equipped me with valuable skills in finance, customer service and management, which I now apply to leading my team.

My journey into real estate was fuelled by my love for property and a passion for creating spaces where people can see their future unfold. While I no longer sell directly, my focus now is to empower and guide my team to do what we do best - helping people buy and sell their homes with confidence and as little stress as possible.

I’m also dedicated to giving back, particularly through my continued involvement with the charity 'First Steps Himalayas,' a cause that is close to my heart. In honour of my son Robbie, I’m committed to supporting initiatives that make a difference, both here at home and abroad.

At Barfoot & Thompson, we believe in more than just selling properties. As our Managing Director Peter Thompson has said, “We’re in the people business.” With over 100 years of family-owned history, Barfoot & Thompson continues to lead in Auckland’s real estate market, selling two out of every five listed homes. Those odds reflect the trust we’ve built with our clients and the community.

Family, community, understanding and innovation are at the heart of everything we do. If those values resonate with you, I’d love to welcome you to our branch to discuss how we can support your next real estate journey.

What my clients say

You have no idea how grateful Jeremy and I are for all the hard work and going the extra mile for us on selling our house. Your kindness, genuine care and the fabulous communication with us, has been a huge part of a successful sale. Your attention to detail, flexibility and positive encouragement made a stressful time much easier for us.

Thank you again.

Hayley & Jeremy

I would like to call out two outstanding and special employees, namely Tony and Georgie. Tony working with Nadja (I only had a couple of very key conversations with her), just blows the concept of customer care out of the park. Its a relationship, almost friendship with a super personal touch that always left us feeling that he has "got this". Always available, supportive with loads of helpful advice as we navigated the waters of purchasing a prooperty in Seaton Road. Georgie operates on another level. What a "powerhouse", energised and always on the ball. I think she could light up the North Shore with her energy levels. These are two very special people. Having recently arrive in New Zealand, it would have been so much harder to have rented then later, bought a property without their support to navigate all the in's and out's. I wouldn't want to work with anyone else, ever.

Dear Tony

I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work you did for me, both in selling my home, and helping me find a new place. I do not know many people who would go to such lengths, including moving furniture for my daughter and another heavy duty lift to the Salvation Army. Your professionalism, kindness and all your time and effort is so much appreciated by me and all the family.

Best wishes.
