Suburb spotlight: Stonefields
Stonefields has experienced strong growth over time, offering great value for investors. With its selection of low maintenance, mostly new homes, it is also a popular suburb for renters.
Why choose Stonefields?
Stonefields Property Manager Sharon Young has lived in the Eastern Bays area for the past 12 years and is still amazed and impressed by the speed of growth in Stonefields.
"Properties have increased in value, month on month, year on year," she says.
"For the tenant, it's a fabulous place to rent. The homes are brand new (or near new), so maintenance just isn't an issue."
"The proximity to main access routes to the city, motorways, etc, makes it an easy commute - to almost anywhere."
"The whole suburb has been well designed, with a great mix of housing and lots of park areas. The school has a strong reputation already. There are people waiting to move here specifically for the school zone."
"Quality homes, quality tenants, strong rental return and high demand - Stonefields is turning into the place to invest - and to live," she says.

About Stonefields
Only 8km from the CBD, Stonefields sits between the suburbs of Glen Innes, Mount Wellington, Remuera and St Johns in Auckland's Eastern Suburbs.
Originally a volcanic site, some 9000 years ago, Stonefields was used as a quarry from 1936 to 2001. It was later purchased by developers, who started the Stonefields master plan, making it one of Auckland's youngest suburban developments.
With the beautiful Eastern beaches nearby, as well as Meadowbank shops, southern motorway and local public transport options, this new community is in a superbly convenient location.
Bordering Waiatarua Reserve and Remuera Golf Club, there are plenty of leisure activities to choose from nearby.
Did you know?
The name Stonefields comes from the Maori stone fields at the base of Mt Wellington. The stone field garden system used heated stones to warm the earth, allowing crops to grow in cooler temperatures.
