A quick note to let the Barfoot & Thompson team know how satisfied I am with the efforts afforded me by mark Edmonds. I am a Trustee who was entrusted with selling two properties and due to beneficiary pressure, I elected to have Harcourts sell property #1. However, this turned out to be a scenario whereby the salespeople at Harcourts assumed that as this was a deceased estate, and I was a newly appointed executor and Trustee that there was no passion or respect to achieve the best possible price. As a result, potential purchasers were of the belief they would be getting this place for a steal, which was certainly not my intention. The end result was a shared sale whereby Ray White sold the place at a price of 200K higher than the Harcourts four or five buyers best offer at auction. Needless to say, I did not go ‘on the market’ for these lowball offers upon the sales team pressure and also from the auctioneer. At the end of the day, it was a sad six-month expensive sale. When it was time to sell property #2 and despite beneficiary objections, I came to Barfoot & Thompson. You guys were the people that my deceased family always used and it was my duty to honour same and even more so after the Harcourts debacle. So, back to Mark Edmonds. I knew this guy before I left New Zealand for Australia and now Thailand. I knew he was based in Mission Bay and of course, possibly not the best candidate to sell a property in Mangere. Nonetheless, my instruction to him was to be my manager for the sale. The trust I have in this guy is immense. After some questionable proposals from assorted Barfoot & Thompson salespeople, the eventual salesperson who produced the buyer, was clearly not on top of his game and as such, caused some issues that could well have been avoided. I left my trust with Mark and he came through. Many times late at night due to our time zone difference, we would be working together to achieve a successful sale. Without this guy, I would never have had the updates and/or understood what the salesman was doing (or why). There is a longer tale here but suffice to say, thank you Mark Edmonds. A man who did not fail my trust and faith in his abilities and experience.
