Taking up the role of Branch Manager of Barfoot & Thompson Whitford in November 2022, means I’m working in an area that I know and love.

I have been a resident here since 2012. I have a young family now and I appreciate all the area has to offer – as it’s a safe and healthy, outdoors-oriented environment to bring your kids up in, with plenty of green spaces and beautiful beaches, right on your doorstep.

Around 40 real estate professionals currently make up the Whitford and Beachlands team. Many are long-time locals who know the market and the people here, and who have been selling and/or managing rural and lifestyle properties for many years. As a team, we are keen to make a difference. One of my main objectives as Branch Manager is to see that we give back to the community, whether it’s through local sponsorships, turning up for events, leading initiatives or supporting positive action in the community.

Whitford is one of Auckland’s premier rural lifestyle areas, and the gateway to the Pohutukawa Coast. It offers lifestyle blocks with significant land holdings and a variety of high quality residences. The area has seen many changes since the first European settlers arrive here in 1843 but it still retains a rustic charm. It’ definitely horse country with a very active pony club, stables and stud farms gracing the landscape.

Many buyers of lifestyle blocks are moving out of the city so it’s important to cast your net widely when looking for a potential buyer.
