On the passing of our older brother (C), myself (B) and another brother (L) assumed the responsibility for C’s estate. We spent considerable effort ensuring C’s home was prepared the best we could and then passed the property to Barfoot & Thompson, Birkenhead branch to market and sell.

Our first contact was with the manager Pete Taylor a man who projects confidence and trust and has a firm grasp of the legal requirements associated with marketing and selling of real estate. A people-person in all respects, someone you instantly like and someone you sense his staff look up to and respect. Our first impressions were reinforced over time.

We had reviewed the salespeople's online profiles and thought Lunar Zhang would suit our requirements perfectly. Pete agreed this was a great choice and introduced her to us later that day. Actually that was the only time B was to meet Lunar in person as he lives in Blenheim, so communication was key.

Distance proved to be no problem at all. If anything, it showed us the vendors, we were in capable hands. We saw the energy and passion, the walking the extra mile, generosity of spirit, working late at nights all on our behalf. The weekly report was always on time, so it was just reward that after a three-week marketing campaign, Lunar’s work bore fruit with an unconditional offer which we accepted. Considering the extraordinary difficult real estate market at this time it wouldn’t surprise us if this sale turned out to be one of the circuit breakers that halts the current market slide as the sale price was far higher than expected.

Pete was the manager at Barfoot & Thompson when I started in the Warkworth office 4 years ago, first as an agent, now as the Customer Services Manager.
