For me, real estate is more of a lifestyle than a profession. You meet different people from different cultures and religions and what’s so exciting is that your first-home buyers will remember you for the rest of their lives.
Back in India, I completed a Bachelor degree in Technology in Electronics and Telecommunications and in 2007, my overseas adventure began. I arrived in New Zealand with one suitcase and worked in an Indian restaurant, a call centre, a technical help desk and I even drove a taxi for a few months before joining the Barfoot & Thompson Otahuhu branch as a salesperson. After 10 years of selling, I was given the opportunity to manage the branch – and now here I am!
From my first day on the job, I wanted to create an environment that felt like a family and I’ve always believed that I would achieve success if the people around me were successful. I work with honesty and fairness, and I am guided by the philosophy that “it’s not about me, it’s always about others.”
Since 2011, I’ve lived in Papatoetoe and over that time I’ve witnessed many changes. Most of my friends and family live in the South and my work is mainly in South Auckland; I’m definitely a local guy!
Family is everything to me. When I’m not working, I’m playing with my three kids. Weekends are spent taking them to swimming and soccer and I just love watching them grow. My wife Rupi has recently joined the real estate business too – I now know what my salespeople are facing.
As well as English, I speak Hindi and Punjabi. We are a great team here at Barfoot & Thompson Otahuhu. For any of your property or property management needs, we’re here to help. Give us a call or drop into the office for a chat.
A philosophy that is my guiding light “Life is not about me, it’s always about others.”
