What I love about my job as a salesperson is being the person who builds the bridge, the person who helps people achieve their property goals. When they get where they want to be, seeing their happy faces makes all my hard work worthwhile.
My career in real estate began around 2013, working with one of the smallest independently owned companies in the industry. Then, I was attracted to Barfoot & Thompson, because of the culture of the business. The values of people, family, diversity and community are the cornerstone of how the company works – it’s a bit like working together as a family.
I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Finance and it was this qualification that prepared me for a professional role in the financial services sector. I also completed a Bachelor of Business and International Relationships in Business. As the Operations Manager in three branches of Dominos Pizzas, I directed daily operations including product preparation (yum!), delivery and customer relations. My next role was as a Business Administrator for Fuji Xerox.
I know the West Auckland area well as I’ve lived in New Lynn for more than 21 years. Glen Eden is an up and coming suburb just five minutes away with lots of development. I’m involved in the Suburbs New Lynn Cricket Club, one of Auckland’s leading cricket clubs with a long and successful history.
My lovely wife and I have three children. I love reading and watching movies and as you’ve probably already gathered, I love to play cricket. As well as the New Lynn Cricket Club I also play cricket for the Sri Lankan Sports Club and I’m involved with the Sri Lankan Buddhist Foundation.
I have good listening and communication skills and I have a talent for understanding people’s needs and what they want to achieve in life. As well as English I speak Sinhala. Give me a call - you’ll find me at Barfoot & Thompson Glen Eden.
