May 2018 rental report

Find out how the average rent for different-sized Auckland properties has changed over the past year.

  • Rental prices continue their gradual growth, with an increase of 4.1% in the past 12 months. This is an increase of $22 per week. 
  • Yield for three bedroom properties remains the greatest in the Central Auckland area. This is due to the higher than average rental prices being achieved in this area by some premium apartments that Barfoot & Thompson manage. 
  • Franklin / Manukau Rural remains the cheapest area for rentals, with an average of $466, followed by South Auckland at $492.
